TADA!

Today was the innagural scrimmage at RMRG’s new warehouse and boy was it exciting–and WARM! I must admit it was strange, preparing for practice (observing, of course!) and NOT putting on long johns. It was awesome, actually. Watching from the sidelines is tough and I am sooo ready to get back out there!

Today I resigned from my posisition at the Lodge Casino. It is unfortunate because I really truly enjoy my co-workers and the job (for the most part), but the commute has been causing a lot of wear and tear on my vehicle and my psyche. I hate “quitting”, more importantly I hate failure (which is how I feel when I quit something–no matter how much it will make me feel better). But I know “it’s for the best”.

I will be working closer to home at a place called Inspirato, a luxury travel company founded by the guys who started Exclusive Resorts. It’s a brand new organization and I will be the marketing manager–a position which will require me to do a whole bunch of stuff that hasn’t even been decided. Whoopy! Making something out of nothing? That’s my speciality.  I’m very excited for the opportunity to share my passion of travel with others and to be a part of a new and innovative concept in the industry. Fun times shall be had by all (I hope).

It was hard to part w/ the Lodge as I have had a pretty dang good time there. There are just as many pros to staying as their are cons, but unforuntatly the weight of the cons were too much to handle. I will miss many of my co-workers….I’m hoping the new joint has as many employees that enjoy quoting bad movies as I do! My last day w/ Jacobs Entertainment is Monday.

So, with that being said, I am ready for this new chapter in my life. I’m ready to feel good again…not only healthwise, but inner selfwise. As I’ve said before–the only way to go, now, is up.
